Free API vs Google Maps for Enterprise

Why can't I get an API key from Google?
As of March 2012, Google no longer supports creation of API keys for their maps APIs. Furthermore Google no longer supports the free Maps API for Flash per their deprecation policy. GMaps Plugin standard trials no longer require any API keys and provide newly enforced publishing limitations. Please contact sales for any additional questions for trials.

Does Google receive confidential data from my Xcelsius dashboard?
Absolutely Not. GMaps Plugin was designed from the ground up with your data security in mind. GMaps Plugin renders all data, shapes, labels, and other content layers locally. Data from within your dashboard and identifying information about your organization never leave your firewall, ensuring that your confidential and proprietary information is secured. API Keys, License Keys, ClientIDs and beyond.

What Key or ID do I use with GMaps Plugin?
We have worked extensively to create a seamless experience for developers and system admins. Each version of GMaps Plugin behaves slightly different based on your organizational needs.

GMaps Plugin Bundles (Includes Google Maps service for Enterprise use)- Upon procuring GMaps Plugin Bundle through Centigon Solutions you receive and register GMaps Plugin with a license key. Once your component is successfully registered in Xcelsius, GMaps Plugin does the rest.

GMaps Plugin Trial- GMaps Plugin trials do not require any keys as of Feb 2012.

Existing Google Maps Premier Customers- Existing Google Maps Premier customers can use their existing Google Maps API Premier Client ID with GMaps Plugin, to immediately benefit from point and click configuration of Google Maps functionality.

Who do I contact for support questions?
All support inquiries for GMaps Plugin and connectivity to Google Maps is directed through Centigon Solutions customer portal. All support information is accessible on the customer support portal.

What is Google's Role in My GMaps Plugin Purchase
Google is not involved in the transaction or customer relationship when you acquire GMaps Plugin. Centigon Solutions provides the support maintains, and expertise you require for your BI related development. For support, service inquiries and issues, domain authorization, and enhancement requests you work directly with our specialized team of experts through our customer support portal.

 

Dashboard Development

Are there any limitations how many dashboards with Google Maps I can create?
No. You can develop and deploy as many dashboards as you like with GMaps Plugin bundle once you have installed the plugin inside Crystal Dashboard Design / Xcelsius.

Can I deploy my dashboards with GMaps Plugin to multiple servers or environments?
Absolutely. You have complete flexibility to deploy dashboards and reports with GMaps Plugin to multiple secured environments without any restrictions. This can include portals like Sharepoint, BusinessObjects Enterprise, and even SAP portal.

Can I use the Google Maps service that I get with GMaps Plugin for other development initiatives within my company?
GMaps Plugin Bundles include GMaps Plugin with Google Maps for Business annual license specifically for GMaps Plugin only. If you require integration with other applications in addition to GMaps Plugin, you can work with Centigon Solutions' sales team to obtain a full license of Google Maps for Business. Have Centigon Solutions sales team help you find a solution.

Can I use my Google Earth account with GMaps Plugin?
Google Maps and Google Earth are separate product offerings from Google and Centigon Solutions GMaps Plugin will only operate with Google Maps APIs.

Can I use an existing Google Premier of Google Maps for Business Account with GMaps Plugin?
Absolutely. You can acquire a GMaps Plugin Premier license, and then use it with an existing Google Premier account and Client ID.
